The Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI), is running a Mechanic/ Mechatronic Training Course in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Light Vehicle) IMI – Level 3, for women and youth of the Niger Delta Region coming up in August – October 2018.

Course Aims
To provide the knowledge, understanding and practical skills required to start a career as a mechanic/ technician in the motor vehicle service and repair industry and the knowledge component of the IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship framework for Light Vehicle.

Course Content
• Diagnose and rectify light vehicle engine and component faults
• Diagnose and rectify light vehicle chassis system faults
• Diagnose and rectify auxiliary equipment electrical faults
• Diagnose and rectify light vehicle transmission and driveline system faults • Wheel Balancing Fundamentals • Wheel Alignment Fundamentals
• Functional skill
• Welding/ Fabrication • Work experience

Entry Requirements
Applicant should be between the ages of 18 – 35 years and holders of a minimum of school certificate or higher qualifications with ambition to excel in the motor vehicle service and repair industry. They must have previously received same training as mechanic/technicians.
